Taking the CPA Exam in 2017 after April 1? We’ve got great news for you! On Feb. 1, the AICPA announced fewer task-based simulations (TBS) will appear on this exam. The previously announced structure presented a range for the number of task-based simulations (TBS) to appear within each section of the exam. The range for each section showed AUD, FAR and REG to include 8-9 TBS and BEC to include 4-5 TBS. After further analysis, the AICPA has settled on the lower number of the range for each of the sections to allow candidates sufficient time to complete the section within the allotted testing time. The final exam structure looks like this:
