As recently announced by the AICPA, a new simulation question type, the Document Review Simulation (DRS), will debut on the CPA Exam on July 1, 2016. This new question type will appear in the FAR, AUD and REG sections initially and move to the BEC section in 2017.

The DRS presents a realistic task that simulates what a newly license CPA might do on the job. The simulation features a primary document as well as related source materials for candidates to review. Highlighted words, phrases, sentences or paragraphs in the DRS document may or may not be correct, requiring the candidate to select appropriate edits based on the relevant source materials.

Surgent CPA Review is excited to announce that course materials have already been updated to include these new question types. Candidates studying with Surgent CPA Review for the July 2016 or beyond testing windows can be assured that they will be prepared to answer these types of questions. Initially, we have included the DRS questions in our FAR, AUD and REG sections.  We will add them to BEC by Fall of this year.

With Surgent CPA Prep, you can be confident in your readiness to sit for the CPA Exam, regardless of when that might be. Access to our course materials does not expire, allowing you to continue to prepare for your exam sections no matter when their testing dates may be.
