Case Study: How Surgent Helped Duquesne University Improve CPA Exam Pass Rates

Faculty and administrators at Duquesne recognized that only 50% of graduating seniors polled planned to take the CPA Exam. Additionally, students taking their Auditing Course were not passing the AUD section of the CPA Exam and had an average pass rate of 54.6%, only slightly above the national average at the time, which was 47%1. Believing that there was room for improvement, Duquesne began looking for more effective content and new ways to teach more effectively. After incorporating Surgent CPA Review content and technology into its Auditing Course, Duquesne students' pass rates in AUD rose from 54.6% in 2015 to 79% in 2018 - a 44% improvement.
